Details of Choice Almost Uncirculated, equivalent to the detail found on certified AU-53 coins. This coin was recovered out of a California hoard, and cleaned, relatively lightly, to remove toning. Sharp remaining detail and 1/3 to 1/2 of the luster survives - certainly more than can be seen in my images (the surfaces made it difficult to get an accurate image). Some light overall scuffing, I think from the cleaning, however the color is relatively even other than some remaining toning. Not too far from what I sometimes see certify in a normal holder, however in this case it would be a long shot. As an interesting aside, this displays some obvious and somewhat mysterious die clash marks, the most noticeable being the "spurs" behind Liberty's heel (shown in the extra image provided). There is a corresponding area on the Reverse between "OF AM" and the Eagle's wing. I could not easily match up detail to explain this, and do not remember seeing something similar on other coins in the past. However, being struck during the First World War, when QC was somewhat reduced due to coinage demand, not a great surprise. Not worth what an unimpaired specimen would be worth (closer to $500 if it would certify) however not too horrible looking and worthy of consideration for a mid- to upper-grade circulated set. The color should continue to tone down over time. I also have several other coins of the same date available, some listed here and others on ebay.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
