1918 P 2 Feathers Buffalo Nickel

Here is a 1918 P coin that has been sent to PCGS for restoration and graded as G 6, almost good enough to justify a designation as a VG coin. It also carries the certification as a 2 Feathers coin. For those unfamiliar with the 2 Feathers variety, frequently the workers at the mint would need to polish the dies. Over time, this polishing removed the highest points in the die, and in this case, would be the 3rd feather behind the neck of the Indian. For what it is worth, the front of this coin, like so many other Buffalo Nickels, is offset from the reverse by a few degreees. PCGS (January/February 2022) indicates that a G 6, 2 Feathers coin, to be worth $80. But you can have this restored and graded coin for only $75 (including shipping).

This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
