An attractive original example, with some light album toning that made it difficult to image properly. Considerable luster remaining although it may not show in my images; I would say in the middle of the AU grade range. Despite the common view of this being a common date, not terribly available in better circulated grades my experience. Oddly enough, this is acknowledged as a true scarcity in BU grades - barely 150 certified at PCGS out of a Mintage of 35+ Million. This is a pattern which extends to a number of dates in the series, where VF to AU+ coins appear undervalued to me. The reason in my opinion is that nobody supports the price structure. Mass mailorder dealers who service “hole fillers” support the Wholesale value of low grade coins (Good to maybe a Fine), as that is what they sell. Other higher-end dealers who service the relatively small number of collectors who actively pursue BU coins support the Wholesale structure of certified coins above MS-60. The “middle” gets ignored. Frankly, other than a small handful of dates, mainly from Philadelphia, almost all coins from 1917 to about 1923 are undervalued if correctly graded.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
