1919 P Buffalo Nickel

Here is a 1919 P Buffalo Nickel that has been submitted to PCGS for restoration and graded as VG 10, almost good enough to justify a designation as a Fine coin. It was submitted because I believed that was a "2 Feathers" variety, however, it seems that the restoration process removed junk that was obscuring the faint 3rd feather. Another aspect of this coin is that it has no "F" beneath the date. While PCGS does not recognize the "No F" variety, NGC indicates that these two conditions are related to the die being over-polished. Nevertheless, this would be a 'nearly 2 Feather' coin, with no "F" beneath the date, and is certainly an unusual specimen. Finally, you can see from the photos that, like so many Buffalo Nickels, the front is misaligned with the reverse by a few degrees, but in the opposite direction of most coins. Although PCGS (March/April 2022) indicates that a VG 10 coin would be worth $7, I believe it to be unusual enough to justify a small premium. Thus, you can have this restored and graded coin for only $9 (plus shipping).

This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins.
