1919 S Buffalo Nickel

Here is a 1919 S Buffalo Nickel that has been sent to PCGS for restoration, but there is not much that can be done for a coin that Acid Treated. Apparently this coin had become so worn or dirty that someone felt it appropriate to bath it in acid. Thus, the best that could be done was to give it a grade of AG Detail. For what it is worth, the front (unlike so many Buffalo Nickels) is almost perfectly aligned with the reverse side of the coin. PCGS indicates that an AG 3 coin would be worth $7 and USACoinbook shows that if you were to purchase a G 4 coin from a dealer that you would pay approximately $10. However, because of its previous treatment, you can have this graded coin for only $2 (plus shipping).

This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.

Unlike my other coins, this coin will NOT be sent via Certified Mail because of its low value (thus the reduced shipping cost). If this coin is purchased by itself, the purchaser assumes all risk in the coin not arriving. If this is a problem, it is recommended that this coin be purchased with at least one other (see the instructions in the next paragraph). Not only will this ensure that this coin is tracked, it also will reduce your shipping costs. (Note that if purchased with another coin, the base shipping cost is $6, not the $4.25 quoted below.)

If ordering multiple coins, please note that contrary to what the system indicates, it does not consider multiple items in your basket and calculates the shipping costs as if I were sending each one individually. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I will then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level.
