1919 Walking Liberty Half Dollar Tough Date PCGS F15 - Superb Original
When you talk about original surfaces or original patina, this coin should be the text book example . This coin (and the other small grouping 1916, 1916-S, and 1919-D) are all as perfectly preserved a choice F to VF coin as I have personally owned for Walking Liberty Halves. I HATE to sell them, but unfortunately, there are bigger opportunities on the horizon, so my loss is your gain.
PCGS Price Guide is $200 for F15 and $325 for VF20. When I submitted these coins in April, I expected this one to grade 20, and the 1916-S to be a liner 15/20.
However, the most recent auction for a 1919 F15 sold weakly with prices in the $119 to $143 range. That said, I have no problem keeping this one for an indefinite period of time as I feel the value is worth more than what they are selling for. I haven't seen that many of them and especially with original surfaces and wonderful natural patina
