The 1923-S Lincoln Cent has a well deserved reputation for being plagued by weak strikes and for being very difficult to locate above the VF grades with anything more than an average strike. This fine specimen grades AU-50 and I would describe the strike as follows: obverse is SHARP and the reverse is strong but just short of sharp primarily due to the centers of both wheat stalks. The pictures tell the true story of the coin you are buying except that the areas around the rim which include the wheat stalks have a tone that is just a bit darker (but natural) than the areas around "ONE CENT" and "United States of America" to your naked eyes. Yet when you loupe the coin then what you see is what's pictured. I did try to bring out this contrast your naked eyes can see but my camera cannot pick it up. (Stock #01c1923650 ZQMAaXD@n)
