1925 P Buffalo Nickel

Here is a 1925 P Buffalo Nickel that was sent to PCGS for restoration and it was returned as VF Detail because it had been "Tooled." After studying the PCGS grading information, the best I can conclude is that it is due to some scratch marks between the feather and the Indian's neck. Yes, it is in less-than-pristine condition, and while you may disagree with me on this, I find this type of damage to be rather minor. Alas, it is what it is, and I doubt that I would be able to change minds at PCGS on this. From the photos, you can see that the front of the coin (like so many Buffalo Nickels) is misaligned with the reverse by a few degrees. PCGS (July/August 2021) indicates that a VF 20 coin would be worth $12 and USACoinbook warrants that if you were to go to a dealer to purchase a VF 20 coin that you would pay about $9. However, because damage is indicated, you can have it for only $7 (plus shipping).

This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
