Item Description
Large S Mintmark, FS-501. Also a Repunched Mintmark (RPM), this subvariety not listed with a separate Cherrypickers number but mentioned in Lange's book on the series, as well as being listed by CONECA and in John Wexler's book. I was not sure which specific RPM this was, however pretty sure it is not #3 or #4. I could not get a really good image of the RPM; the last oversized image is from NGC as a comparison, but may not be this specific RPM variety. I will let the new owner decide and price it simply as a Large S. The coin itself is a nice AU+, equivalent to what will normally certify at least AU-55, with the typical slightly mushy '28-S strike. Original with plenty of luster showing.
