1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter With Die Break/Teardrop Cud. This error is included in the excellent reference book "Standing Liberty Quarter Varieties and Errors (2nd Edition)" authored by SLQ specialist Robert H. Knauss. It can be found on pages 349-351, and is indexed as K-0049. Due to the late die stage, this coin features the larger, and more desirable size cud compared to the earlier die stage with a thin, smaller cud. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
