1929-D Standing Liberty Quarter with major die break that resulted in an interior cud underneath Lady Liberty's right arm and sash. Very fine grade with original surfaces that have not been messed with. This extremely rare and fascinating SLQ variety is included in the excellent reference guide to the series, "Standing Liberty Quarters Varieties and Errors" (2nd Edition) authored by SLQ expert Robert H. Knauss. It is indexed as K-0177, and can be found on pages 353-354. Over these many years, Mr. Knauss has written many feature stories for ERRORSCOPE (the official bi-monthly publication of CONECA) in regard to the many errors and varieties within this series. This 1929-D "Flowing Sash" variety is but one of them. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
