1929-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar "No AW" (designer's initials) Reverse. Very Good Grade. There are a number of different dates known in the Walking Liberty Half Dollar series that are missing the designer's initials at about the 4:30 o'clock position on the reverse, and the 1929-S is but one of them. Over excessive die polishing by a mint employee is what caused this variety. It is basically the same mistake that caused the very popular 1937-D 3-legged Buffalo Nickel to occur. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
PLEASE NOTE: This coin is DOUBLE LISTED. It is listed under THIS category, and also under the Walking Liberty Half Dollar category. Early bird gets the worm here! If this coin is purchased in THIS category, it will be IMMEDIATELY deleted from the OTHER category it is listed in.
