Here is a 1930 S Lincoln Wheat Penny that has been submitted to PCGS for restoration and graded as VF 35, almost good enough to justify a designation as an EF coin. This coin was presented to PCGS in the expectation that it would have the S/S FS-301 variety attributed. However, while I still believe that there is a double strike on the mint mark, it clearly does not match the photos of an FS-301 on the NGC web site, and it is pretty difficult to see the coin in that much detail inside the holder. Thus, my mistake is your gain. For what it is worth, the front of this coin, unlike so many other coins, seems to be pretty well aligned with the reverse. PCGS (July/August 2021) states that a VF 35 coin would be worth $2 while USACoinbook warrants that if you were to purchase a VF 20 coin from a dealer that you would pay less than a dollar; an EF 40 coin would cost you about $2. However, you can have this restored and graded coin for only $2 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
Unlike my other coins, this coin will NOT be sent via Certified Mail because of its low value (thus the reduced shipping cost). If this coin is purchased by itself, the purchaser assumes all risk in the coin not arriving. If this is a problem, it is recommended that this coin be purchased with at least one other that would be sent via Certified Mail (see the instructions in the next paragraph). Not only will this ensure that this coin is tracked, it also will reduce your shipping costs. (Note that if purchased with another coin that will be sent via Certified Mail, the base shipping cost is $6, not the $4.25 quoted below.)
Please note that the system is not structured to adjust the shipping charges unless I was selling several coins under a single listing. (I have not seen anyone on USACoinbook do this.) Thus, if you were to order multiple coins from me (each a different denomination/year/mint/grade/etc), you could be socked with what seems to be outrageous shipping costs. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I can then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level. At this time you should pay me.
If paying by check or money order, this coin will be shipped once funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking.
