This coin displays nice original color and luster, a bit muted in my image of the Reverse as the toning is deeper (it can more easily be seen when the coin is viewed in hand). This color is typical of a coin long housed in a Whitman-style folder, which tended to tone the "down" side of a coin. Also typical of such old school coins, this shows a very light patch of "hairlines" on the left side of the Obverse only in front of Washington's face. There is no sign of what I would call a cleaning or trying to remove a spot, etc., so I think these are from random contact or brief handling. The coin has certainly never been dipped. The hairlines would almost certainly prevent certification in a non-details holder, so I have not bothered to submit the coin. However, equivalent to what you will normally see in a low MS numbered certified coin (MS-61/62), but with nicer color and surfaces - this is nicer than the other, ex-ANACS specimen I am also offering. Most low end certified "Unc" specimens I see are dark or dull washed out processed coins, many of them questionable as even being "new". Should work for someone who is not wigged out about needed a coin entombed in plastic - my price here accounts for the fees I have to pay here. This coin is guaranteed genuine, backed by our firm's 80+ years in the business, plus all the industry "garden salad" (PCGS/NGC/CAC/ANA, etc., etc.). If submitted for certification, guaranteed to certify as Genuine Unc Details - if this is a concern, feel free to contact me directly about my extended return privilege for certification. Please note that due to value, depending upon delivery address this may require Registered Mail shipping, which is slower delivery time; please take this into account prior to considering a purchase. Optional shipping by Insured Express Mail - BOTH services quoted are below my actual cost.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
