Here is a 1936 D Buffalo Nickel that has been submitted to PCGS for restoration and graded as AU 53. It was originally submitted in the belief that it was an FS-502 variety (RPM), however PCGS disagreed. (I still believe that there is another "D" under the final "D", but it does not match the definition of the variety, and that, as they say, is that.) However, you can see from the photos that, like so many Buffalo Nickels, the front is misaligned with the reverse, but only by a few degrees. PCGS (July/August 2021) indicates that an AU 53 coin would be worth $12 and USACoinbook warrants that if you were to purchase an AU 50 coin from a dealer that you would pay about $13 (more for an AU 53). So what I had hoped was an $85 coin turned out to be a $12 coin. But my misfortune becomes your advantage because you can have this restored and graded coin for only $9 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
To ensure delivery, this coin will be sent via Certified Mail.
Please note that the system is not structured to adjust the shipping charges unless I was selling several coins under a single listing. (I have not seen anyone on USACoinbook do this.) Thus, if you were to order multiple coins from me (each a different denomination/year/mint/grade/etc), you could be socked with what seems to be outrageous shipping costs. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I can then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level. At this time you should pay me.
If paying by check or money order, this coin will be shipped once funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking.
