This listing is for a beautiful and fully original scarce silver 1936 Gettysburg Commemorative Half Dollar freshly graded MS65 by PCGS. The Gettysburg is one of the scarcer issues of the Classic Commemorative Series. The Gettysburg was mnted only at the Philadelphia mint and had an original mintage of just over 26,000 coins and is considered a semi-key coin.

This coin was originally encapsulated in an older generation PCI holder with the Green Border where it was a grade lower but noted as "PQ" by PCI.notation. This coin was submitted as a crossover submission (see last picture provided).

Submission form was sent requesting it only be crossed if it warranted a minimum grade of MS63.  Apparently PCGS agreed with the PQ  as PCGS not only crossed it over, they bumped it up by a full grade moving it from MS64 to the gem level MS65 grade. This is not a common occurenece. Further lending credence to the buy the coin, not the plastic theory. Learning how to evaluate and grade coins. instead of being too heavily dependent on stickers and other distractions can indeed pay dividends.
