1936 (P) Mercury Dime CONECA Doubled Die Obverse #2. On the Variety Vista website, there are 8 different doubled dies listed for the 1936 (P) Dime. Using a process of elimination, I have concluded that the Roosevelt dime available here is DDO #2-O-II-C+VI. Class VI doubling is better known as distended hub doubling that results in the raised images on the hub becoming flattened, and thicker. On this example, doubling can be seen as extra thickness on the date, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the designer's initials (AW). The vertical rods in the fasces on the reverse are full and complete with the diagonal bands mostly separated from the rods. There is some of the original mint luster present. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
