This coin is a 1938-D Buffalo Nickel, graded by NGC as MS66. 1938 was the last year of the Buffalo Nickel. Even though this coin is a fairly common year/mintmark and grade combo, the thing that makes this coin slightly different is the toning. Typically, Buffalo Nickels will have a somewhat flat brown tone to them. This one has a nice, bright medium brown tone that covers most of both the obverse and reverse. It is also housed in a slightly older NGC holder. Overall, this is a very eye-appealing example of a Buffalo Nickel.
