This Jefferson nickel has an interesting texture, mostly on the reverse. The texture reminds me of millscale but I've never seen it on a coin before.
On the reverse, there are two areas with this texture. The first starting under the S in PLURIBUS and continuing beneath the word UNUM. The second area starts off the edge of the rim on the left, runs though the memorial and through the first O in MONTICELLO, then pools to an end above the letter E in FIVE.
On the obverse, there is a small spot of texture that appears to be contained to the end of TRUST.
It does appear that the coin was stamped over this imperfection, but I would be interested to hear the opinion of others as I am quite new to coin collecting. My father in law had this in his collection for some time until his passing a few years ago when my husband acquired it.
I would be interested in selling this to the right buyer after receiving a few opinions, but honestly I am not sure if there is even any value in it with my current knowledge.
