This is a replica of the 1942 (2/1) or 2 over 1 Mercury Dime that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. The dies for the 1942 and 1941 dimes were switched prior to the second stamping/annealing, so the overstrikes were made as the result. It is not known just how many overstrikes were made during the 1942 and 1941 years. This is a way of owning a replica of this rare coin for educational purposes.
