1942 Walking Liberty Half Dollar CONECA Doubled Die Obverse (DDO) #2. About Uncirculated++ Grade. Doubling is seen on Lady Liberty's right breast, and on middle sections of the gown and branches. A very reliable die marker for this variety, that of a die crack from Lady Liberty's nose extending toward her right hand is visible. Original surfaces that have not been messed with. While this 1942 DDO #2 is not actually included in the Cherrypickers' Guide 5th Edition Volume 2, it is very similar to DDO #1 which IS included in CP5V2 on page 273. In addition, in all of my years of cherrypicking, I have found that the 1942 (P) Walking Liberty Half Dollar DDO #2 is much more difficult to locate than 1942 DDO #1. Excellent close-up pictures of this variety can be seen on the Variety Vista website. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
