1942 Silver Walking Liberty Dollar PCI MS63 Very Choice BU Uncirculated Green PCI

1942 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar in very choice BU Condition. Conservatively graded by PCI in their glory days of the green border holders, as MS63, I see nothing holding this back from a 4 holder, possibly even a half point more.

This coin is encapsulated in a highly collectible old PCI Holder with the Green Border.

Very strong and intense full mint bloom with no trace of wear at all and no signs of cleaning, hair lines or any type of surface problems or rim bruises to point out.

PCI was around since the 1980s. At one point they were sold to Hallmark but then they reacquired the company after Hallmark failed to make a go of it. PCI was well known during this era when they were using Green and Red Borders as having accurate, if not conservative grading and among the numismatic community were considered to be for the most part, consistent, reliable and accurate with their grading. In later years, perhaps in the early 1990s with the introduction of the gold border slabs their reputation started to falter and by the late 1990s after PCI was bought out by an international firm, they were relegated to a laughing stock and joke as far as a quality grading service went.
