Offered here for the collector is a 1943-P Jefferson Nickel.
This nickel is made of 35% silver because the nickel metal was needed when the United States led the fight for freedom in World War Two . By law any time there's a change in composition, there must be a change in design, so the S and D mint marks were made larger and moved above the Monticello. This also caused the first appearance of the P, for the Philadelphia Mint. The coin is in pretty nice shape considering how old it is.
