Here is a 1944 D Lincoln Wheat Penny that has been submitted to PCGS for restoration and graded as XF 40. It was sent in because I felt it was a RPM (FS-502); alas, I was mistaken. And while I can still see some doubling of the "D" it apparently is faux doubling and does not match their definition of an FS-502. Therefore, my mistake is your gain. Also, this coin had been graded previously (with a PCGS number of 38294576) and was then sent in for restoration and variety determination. Thus, the two TrueView® photos constitute a 'before' and 'after' view of the coin with respect to the restoration process. Further, for what it is worth, the front, unlike so many other coins, is aligned almost perfectly with the reverse. USACoinbook warrants that if you were purchase an EF 40 coin from a dealer that you would pay less than $1. But you can have this restored and graded coin for only $0.50 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
Unlike my other graded coins, this coin will NOT be sent via Certified Mail because of its low value (thus the reduced shipping cost). If this coin is purchased by itself, the purchaser assumes all risk in the coin not arriving. If this is a problem, it is recommended that this coin be purchased with at least one other that would be sent via Certified Mail (see the instructions in the next paragraph). Not only will this ensure that this coin is tracked, it also will reduce your shipping costs. (Note that if purchased with another coin that will be sent via Certified Mail, the base shipping cost is $6, not the $4.25 quoted below.)
If ordering multiple coins from me, please note that the system only allows for those instances where you might buy more than 1 of a given item as opposed to buying multiple items. Thus, if you buy more than 1 item (or coin) from a vendor, you could be socked with what seems to be outrageous shipping costs. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I will then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level. At this time you should pay me.
If paying by check or money order, this coin will be shipped once funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking.
