Cent production at the Denver Mint was suspended from May through August of 1945, probably due to large production of coins for the recently liberated Philippines. Nevertheless, 1945-D was produced in large numbers and are common in all grades through MS 67 RD.
Numerous repunched mintmark varieties are known for this issue, but they are not particularly eye catching and remain of interest solely to specialists.
