Item Description
1945 (P) Walking Liberty Half Dollar "Sunburst" Variety. About Uncirculated ++ Grade. Original surfaces that have not been messed with. First discovered in 2019, The "Sunburst" variety consists of fine lines radiating from the center of the obverse, and are clearly visible within and above Lady Liberty's outstretched right arm. These fine lines were more than likely caused by stress fractures in the obverse die. NGC actually has this variety included in their "Varieties Plus" link on their website (see attached photos for description as found on the NGC website). Thus, NGC will attribute and grade this variety. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
The seller is a long time collector of nearly 60 years, a contributor to the Cherrypickers' Guide, a member in good standing with CONECA since 1998, and has been the South Dakota state representative for CONECA since 2021.
