1945 S Walking Liberty Half Dollar

Here is a 1945 S Walking Liberty Half Dollar that has been submitted to PCGS for restoration. While the verdict came back as VF Detail because of Edge Damage, I honestly cannot see where this damage might be, unless it is hidden by the holder. I can see nothing amiss with the rim of this coin other than the normal wear one receives from other coins. Thus, I cannot see any justification for not giving this coin a numerical grade. However, it is what it is and we must move on. For what it is worth, the front (unlike so many other coins) is aligned almost perfectly with the reverse, although this is hidden by the fact that the coin was not mounted in the holder with the front completely vertical. USACoinbook warrants that if you were to go to a dealer to purchase a VF 20 coin that you would pay about $20. But you can have this restored and graded coin for only $18 (plus shipping).

This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
