1946 Walking Liberty Half Dollar with the popular doubled die reverse (DDR) in extremely fine grade. Strong doubling seen on E PLURIBUS UNUM, the wing feathers, most of the eagle, the inner parts of the branches, on the left side of the eagle's left leg, and the bottom parts of some of the lettering. It also must be mentioned that the coin is of an early die state with sharper details on the reverse devices, and is much more preferable than late die state specimens with mushy, unclear details. This highly sought after variety can be found in the Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties 5th Edition Volume 2 on page 280, and is indexed as FS-50-1946-801.
