1946 (P) Walking Liberty Half Dollar Doubled Die Reverse (DDR) in Extremely Fine Grade. This coin has the appearance of being dipped. The 1946 WLHD DDR offered here features the strongest and most extensive doubled die of the entire series, and is in great demand! Strong doubling is visible on the eagle's large wing feathers and left leg, the inner parts of the cactus branches, the letters LURIBUS in PLURIBUS, and the letters UM of UNUM. Excellent close up photos of the doubling can be found on the varietyvista.com website. This coin is of a mid die state. This variety is included in the Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties 5th Edition Volume 2, is indexed as FS-50-1946-801, and can be found on page 280. Grading is subjective.
