1946 Walking Liberty Half Dollar with Doubled Die Reverse. Extremely Fine Grade. The 1946 Walking Liberty Half Dollar DDR is the strongest and most extensive doubled die in the entire series and is in great demand. Strong doubling can be seen on the LURIBUS of PLURIBUS, UM of UNUM, the eagle's wing feathers, most of the eagle, the inner part of the branches, and the eagle's right leg. The outer elements do not show any doubling. This popular variety is included in The Cherrypickers' Guide 5th Edition Volume 2, is indexed as FS-50-1946-801, and can be found on page 280. Excellent close-up photos of this variety can be seen on the varietyvista.com website. Lady Liberty's breastplate on the obverse is full and complete. This coin has the appearance of being dipped. Grading is subjective. Please examine the attached photos to formulate your own opinion in regard to grade.
