This coin has been certified by PCGS as a 1946-S Inverted MM FS-501 and graded as AU Detail because of a scratch. Although I have carefully examined the coin for this scratch, the only location I can find is on the front immediately below word "LIBERTY". However, this appears to me to be nothing more than what one would find on a typical coin and can see no reason why it could not have received a numerical grade. Apparently this is a rare enough variety that coins in this condition have rarely changed hands. The lowest grade of a coin in this condition listed by PCGS would be an MS 63. They indicate that a coin in that condition to be worth $150. But you can have extremely rare variety for only $44 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
To ensure delivery, this coin will be sent via Certified Mail. Also, it will be mailed in a bubble-wrap envelope.
Please note that the system is not structured to adjust the shipping charges unless I was selling several coins under a single listing. (I have not seen anyone on USACoinbook do this.) Thus, if you were to order multiple coins from me (each a different denomination/year/mint/grade/etc), you could be socked with what seems to be outrageous shipping costs. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I can then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level. At this time you should pay me.If paying by check or money order, this coin will be shipped once funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking.
