In the immediate postwar period mintages remained high, and it was not until 1947 that the effects of a slowing economy became evident. 1946(P) quarters are plentiful across all grades through MS 66, though superior examples are very scarce.
Numerous DDO varieties are known for this issue, though only two or three would attract the interest of anyone other than a specialist. DDRs are fewer in number and generally less interesting.
