1948-P Franklin half dollar, great condition

This is one of many old coins that I inherited from my grandfather 50 years ago and that have sat in my dresser drawer for all those years.  I know nothing about coins, but if you ask me a question in layman's terms I will do my best to answer correctly and honestly.

To my inexpert eye, this coin looks almost flawless.  I see almost no wear or scratching.  Please study the photos closely; I took them in high resolution.
