Like the 1951 D nickel, this issue is a scarce in fully struck, gem condition. Though it is usually sharper than its P and S cousins, the 1952 D nickel often reveals contact marks that were either present on the unstruck planchet or were received during the counting and bagging operations.
There are several D/D reverse dies known, but none of these are sufficiently appealing to have attracted much collector interest.
