This is a 1956-D Lincoln cent in Brilliant Uncirculated (MS63 or better) full red condition. It has an over mint mark (OMM) variety that is listed in the Wexler OMM Files as 1956-D 1¢ WOMM-001. It has a D/S Wide Northeast. It is not recognized by CONECA as an OMM variety. It is the belief of their attributer that it is an RPM rather than an OMM so it is listed in the CONECA RPM Files as RPM #12 Stage B. The attributers at www.coppercoins.com have accepted it as an OMM variety and their website shows a later die state specimen that shows nearly the entire outline of the S. This is a mid-die state specimen that shows a significant amount of the S mint mark. Before purchasing this variety you need to weigh both sides of the debate, examine relevant photos, and then make a decision as to whether or not you want to purchase one for your collection and whether or not you want to put it in your collection as an OMM or an RPM. The photo of this variety is a file photo used to illustrate the doubling. We cannot photograph every single variety that we sell. Satisfaction guaranteed. Full 15 day return privilege as long as the coin has not been removed from the 2x2 in which it was sold. You can rest assured that you are getting a genuine RPM variety. I am the John A.
