1959 US Uncirculated Double Mint Set - P & D - 10 Coins OGP Gold Envelope Index Cards
This 1959 Uncirculated Double Mint Set contains the original cellophane packaging of 5 coins from the Philadelphia mint and 5 coins from the Denver mint - 10 coins in all.
The cellophane packaging remains sealed and the coins all appear to be in very nice shape. These coins are all uncirculated and are business strikes (not proof strikes).
The US Mint produced Double or Triple Mint Sets from 1947 through 1964. These sets included coins struck from each mint, Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco if any were struck there (pre-1956). Production of these was significantly fewer than the proof sets that were produced alongside the mint sets. In 1959, the US Mint released 187,000 Double Mint Sets compared to 1,149,291 Proof Sets (basically 10x).
This listing comes with everything pictured - the 2 sets of coins in their original cellophane packaging, the index cards and gold outer envelope. I am not sure if the gold outer envelope is the actual original envelope for this set as they usually have the date 1959 stamped in the lower left corner, but that isn't universal so it is unclear if it is or is not. Regardless, the remainder of the set is fully original , unopened and in excellent condition.
Your bid is for the EXACT Proof Set pictured.
