Offered here for the collector is a 1965 Washington Quarter Error Coin.
This coin is not a Doubled Die, it is Strike Doubled. Many "purist" collectors frown on Strike Doubled coins because the error occurs at the time of the strike rather than when the die was made. Many other collectors, (myself included) like both errors, especially the strong ones. The Strike Doubling on this coin is stronger than most Doubled Dies.
