1968-S Proof Washington Quarter.  Struck Through Obverse.  The struck through can be seen to the southeast of the ear, and appears to be a small piece of string or a small staple that got caught between the die and the planchet during the minting process. Zoom in on the pictures of the obverse, and you will see it!  This kind of mint error is quite rare on proof coins!  The surfaces are original and have not been messed with.
