This is a replica of the 1974 'Aluminum' Lincoln Memorial Cent that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. Over 1 million cents were struck in aluminum with a 1974 date as experimental pieces. None were placed in circulation and most were later destroyed. This is a way of owning a replica of this rare coin for educational purposes.
