1974-D Kennedy Half Dollar Doubled Die Obverse (DDO). Graded by ICG as About Uncirculated (AU) 58. This variety is one of the strongest DDO'S in the entire Kennedy Half Dollar series. Strong doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, and the date. This DDO is included in the Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties 5th Edition Volume 2 on page 322, and is indexed as FS-50-1974D-101 (the old FS number was FS-015). It is also indexed by the late Walter Breen as BR5299. The slab is in decent shape for its age with no cracks, chips, etc. Also, it should be noted that the 4 close-up microscopic photos ARE NOT of the actual coin that is in the slab. It is to give the prospective buyer a clear idea of what the strong die doubling looks like on this coin.
