In the early 1970s, there were 2 types of special 40% silver Eisenhower dollars sold directly to collectors. This is one of those collectible issues, this is the proof version and was struck in San Francisco. Like the collectible uncirculated version, this coin is 40% silver by weight.

The 1974 proof silver Eisenhower dollar is sealed in a protective plastic case. This case fits inside a brown cardboard sleeve that has the appearance of wood grain. This Brown Box Ike is still in its original packaging. Please note that since this coin was not purchased directly from the Mint, but from secondary sources like other collectors that the packaging may show signs of wear. The coin may show signs of aging processes, but this is natural.

Brown Box Ike 1974 Design
The Eisenhower dollar was designed by Frank Gasparro. The front of the coin shows a depiction of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. This side is inscribed with the words "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "1974."

The reverse shows an eagle over the surface of the moon with Earth in the distance. This side of the coin reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "ONE DOLLAR."
