Recall the bygone era of America`s large-size dollar coins with this 1978-D Eisenhower dollar! This big, handsome coin was struck by the Denver Mint in the final year of the series. That makes it one of the last large-size U.S. dollar coins struck for circulation! Issued from 1971-1978, the short-lived Eisenhower dollar is now seldom seen in circulation. The obverse bears the portrait of World War II hero and 34th U.S. president, Dwight D. Eisenhower. The eagle reverse commemorates the first lunar landing.
