1991 Small Date 1oz Silver 10 Yuan People's Republic of China Panda just back from Newport Beach, CA. a couple days ago where it graded PCGS MS70.

The 1991 Small Date China Panda is exceptionally tough in MS70. For the last 3+ years I have followed this exact date and variety (small date) and the population remained steady at PCGS at 11 coins in MS70. Well, this recent submission of 10 coins from an uncut, unopened original government sheet resulted in not just 1, but 2 coins grading MS70! This after the previous sheet submitted last year went 10 for 10 with all 10 grading MS69. Needless to say, all 20 coins look flawless to me, but I will say the two that graded 70, have a little extra pop to the luster and look just utterly amazing.

The other good thing to bear in mind is these 20 coins sat untouched for 34 years in their original packaging. Chances are very strong they will not develop milk or water spots as they almost suerly would have by now as they are 34 years old.

The last time an MS70 was offered for sale was 2021.
