This is a Gem Proof 1999-S Lincoln cent that should grade PR65 or better. It has the Type 1 "Close AM" reverse design which is the design intended for circulation strike coins and not proof coins for that year. The 1999-S proof cents are supposed to have the Type 2 "Wide AM" reverse design. As a proof coin variety it is highly unlikely that more than 3,000 specimens of this variety exist as that is the average die life for a Lincoln cent proof die. As a result, this variety is EXTREMELY RARE! The variety is listed in The Cherrypickers's Guide to Rare Die Varieties as FS-01-1999S-901. The photos show the Close AM design and are photos of the actual coin that you will receive. If you are not happy with the coin, you have a full 14 day return privilege as long as the coin has not been removed from the 2x2 in which it was shipped. The refund would also include your postage to return the coin. I have accumulated a significant number of coins over the years and the time has come to liquidate. My wife knows nothing about coins and my two children aren't the least bit interested. To avoid having them eventually dumped into a bank for face value, they need to go before I do. As a result, I am trying to price them at very competitive rates. If paying by check or money order, please mail payment to: John A. Wexler, P.O. Box 544, Quakertown, PA 18951-0544. Good luck with all of your collecting efforts.
