The 2014 5 oz ATB Everglades Silver Coin is another addition to the US Mint's popular America The Beautiful Series and the 25th design in the series.
Coin Highlights:
Each coin has been minted with the series' standard 5 troy ounces of .999 pure silver which is indicated along the rim of the coin. Aside from their precious metal content, the coins have a legal tender value of one-quarter dollar in the United States.
The obverse side of the coin has the same design as all others in the series with an image of George Washington. This design was taken from the Washington Quarter, and showcases a left-facing profile of George Washington. Above him, "United States of America" is stamped in large lettering. Under Washington, the words "Quarter Dollar" are stamped to denote the coin's face value. Additionally, the word "Liberty" and the phrase "In God We Trust" are marked to his left and right side respectively.
As the last America The Beautiful Silver Coin to be released by the Mint in 2014 and the 25th in the series as a whole, the US Mint has decided to commemorate Florida's Everglades National Park. Located at the center of the coin's reverse is an image taken from the Everglades. In this image, two birds are shown. One is standing in a marsh along the water's edge while the other is standing in the water. The park's name "Everglades" is stamped above this image with the minting year stamped along the bottom. The state "Florida" and the phrase "E Pluribus Unum" are marked to the bottom-left and right respectively.
