Item Description
In 2023-P the U.S. Mint struck an interesting Lincoln Cent variety. The variety is known as the “Extra V” variety, as some 2023-P Lincoln Cents have been found with an extra “V’ letter, to the right of the V.D.B. initials on the obverse of the coin.
It is somewhat of a unique variety, as no other Lincoln Cent varieties have had a “V’ letter misplaced before. The variety is believed to have originated from a modified hub, which in return struck at least one die.
