1917 Variety 1
(Bare Breast)
Standing Liberty
Quarter
This 1917 Standing Liberty quarter dollar is a variety 1 (Bare Breast).
This type was produced only 2 years (1916-1917).
The 1916 had only 52,000 minted and in G sells for $3,250.00 an AU like this 1917 is priced at $12,000.00.
This makes the 1917 the obvious choice for this type for most people.
There was a modification later in 1917 to cover Liberty's exposed breast due to public outcry.
The reverse also has a new arrangement of stars, and the eagle is higher.

Coin Description:
This nice, no problem AU FH (Full Head) Type 1 Standing Liberty quarter dollar
was recently purchased at a great new coin shop in Biloxi.
It is a very nice AU with nice original light gray and smooth surfaces.
This beauty is fully struck with a full round head and all the rivets on shield very pronounced.
This coin was so sharply struck it even shows details in the hair !
As you can see from the photos, Liberty's bare breast is fully visible.
The eagle's breast feathers are strongly struck and fully visible.
Premium mid-grade coins like this one are getting tougher to find at a reasonable price.
This is a super nice Bare Breast Standing Liberty quarter dollar.
We purchased 8 new coins that will be listed soon, including a really high grade mint state
1935-S Mercury dime and a beautiful 1855-O Seated Liberty half dollar.
Please grade by the photos.

Lighting and camera:
I use 2 different lights for photos.
I use a 22W fluorescent circle lamp and a 13W dual tube Ott-Lite.
The lighter color photos are the fluorescent lamp and the darker photos are the Ott-Lite.
Some are combinations of both lamps.
Pictures taken with Nikon D3100 with Tamron Macro Lens.

I am able to list the same coins on USA Coin Book much cheaper
than on eBay because USA Coin Book doesn't charge me 18.5% of the sale.
I am hoping USA Coin Book starts getting more traffic, as dealers
NEED a less expensive way to market their coins at a lower price.
We can sell coins on here at the same price as coin shows.
