The United States Mint certifies that this coin is in proof version of the one once U.S. silver bullion coin. The Liberty Coin Act of 1985 authorized the United State Mint to strike and issue one dollar coins containing one troy once of .999 silver, in quantities sufficient to meet public demand.  The legislation provides that the design of the coin should be symbolic of Liberty on the obverse with an eagle on the revers.  The coin has an inscription of the year of minting or issuance, the words "Liberty", "In God We Trust", "Untied States of America", "1 Oz. Fine Silver, "E Pluribus Unum" and "One Dollar" and has a reeded edge.
