BU Roll 20 Coins 90% Silver 1961 Franklin Half Dollars Choice BU Uncirculated

Choice BU Roll of 90% Silver 1961 Philadelphia mint Franklin Half Dollars

Nice roll overall. End of roll deeply toned coin and several others with some degree of toning and quite a few brilliant coins.

BU or Brilliant Uncirculated means no trace of wear, i.e. coins that were not released into circulation. It does not mean they are perfect or Gem level grades. The typical uncirculated roll of coins consists of the lowest grade on the uncirculated scale through the 3rd or 4th deegree on that scale. the Gem level grade starts at the 5th degree of the scale and are scarce to rare for most all dates within a series (if they weren't, they wouldnt be so valuable).

We seldom attach the terms "Gem", Gem BU and rom an original roll to raw coin listings. 20+ years a collector and numismatist and as someone who submits over 1,000 coins per year to PCGS, I am confident in my abilities to grade coins and take pride in remaining strict and conservative. We strongly prefer clients to pleasantly surprised with the quality of the coins they order, vs. underwhelmed and diappointed by over hyped, over graded, over described coins. And for the people that cannot answer the simple question to it's clients, "Has the coin(s) been cleaned", prefering to cop out by saying it's subjective, or ecvery coin has been cleaned to some degree, we strongly recommend you rethink giving those types of merchants your business and hard earned money.
