ONE Choice BU Roll 90% Silver 1964 Kennedy Half Dollars 20 Coins
This listing is for ONE (1) fresh and frosty Original BU Roll of 1964 90% Silver Kennedy Half Dollars. We have over 10 rolls of these - all extremely similar. However, your bid is for the EXACT roll pictured. The last picture is just to show the small hoard of 1964 BU Rolls of Kennedy Half Dollars. These are true BU Rolls, not sliders posing as BU Coins, not cleaned or polished coins. These are truly uncirculated coins, never put into circulation squirreled away by a 70+ year old man's father during the mid 60s when the coinage was changing from silver to clad in real time.
We acquired a large hoard of 90% Silver from a gentleman in New Hampshire (retired chief of police in his early 70's), and he has held onto his father's coin collection for the past 30+ years. He just now started to liquidate his holdings to us.
We almost never apply the adjective Gem or Gem BU to raw coins understanding just how difficult it is to obtain those grades from the top two Third Party Grading Services. Overusing this term diminishes the value of coins truly deserving of this descriptor. It's also blatantly false to use that term so casually and lightly.
Uncirculated means no trace of wear. It does not mean perfect coins. That's what a seventy grade means. There are zero business strike 1964 Kennedy Half Dollars graded seventy by any of the major TPG services, and very few graded higher than six-seven. Spots, and carbon spots on silver and copper coins, along with bag marks and minor imperfections are very common and are the norm. This group of rolls is definitely on the higher end of preservation. Not a lot of spots or even toning; well taken care of and stored in ideal conditions in a dry, temperate location.
